Reviewing own coins with plenty of questions...

I apologize in advance if you have seen posts similar to this - but I am determined to find out more. (This time around, I got slightly more clues since I have the coins with me right now)
First is a bizarre "pattern" Russian coin that I have not seen before and probably have not been recorded in any catalogue books yet.

The oddity of this "coin" is that this is struck on two planchets with proper reeded edging:

This coin is supposely similar to a coin that has been released. Link
If ones takes a look, the common coin was minted in LMD against this pattern coin that is supposely made in MMD. MMD traditionally minted almost all of the gold coins in Russia (since the Soviet era) and this particular coin has a diameter of 29.95mm, which a standard gold 100 ruble is around 30.00mm (+- .25mm). On the other hand, the 1 ruble nickel coin is around 31mm.
Perhaps, this was a trial coin made to for gold coins but it was scrapped and instead minted as Ni-Cupro coins???
Feel free to randomly comment.
Second post to come out later.
