What is this Dan Marino 24kt coin worth?

With gold price increasing over the last month or so what is something like this worth? 1998 Pinnacle Mint 24kt Gold Coin Dan Marino - only 1 was made. Thoughts? Anyone have the 24kt Gold coins from Football of either 1997 or 1998? I'm looking for the Mark Brunells from 1997

unless they did something different for 1998..it shouldn't be a 1 of 1. They have the same coins in 1996 and 1997....all GOLD PLATED though not solid..

Unless this was one of the redemption coins or something of that nature...perhaps it is..

But by the pics..it looks like the typical coin that came from packs..

The coin you have 24 kt is plated I believe and thus worth very little in scrap gold. This is assuming I am reading your question properly.

Had the coin been in fact gold bullion it would read its wght and purity.

ex..... 1/2 oz 900 fine or somthing like that.

the value of the coin is tied to its sports market value and not the gold market.

Just like the 1997 Pinnacle Mint set there were redemption cards for solid silver coins and solid gold coins. This was the coin from the redemption card. So its not the brass, or nickel or gold plated versions.

The odds were 1 in 94,000 packs

if you could prove to the average marino collector in an ebay auction that it is, in fact, the 1/1 pure gold coin, I believe it's value is limitless.

well i stand corrected. if that is indeed the case then Gold was at 500.00 yesterday.


do the math as I have no idea as to its wght. then like the above poster has stated it will have added value as a sports collectable.
