No more black out dates?

BECOKABECOKA Posts: 16,961 ✭✭✭
Not sure if it was supposed to slip or if it was wishful thinking but I was talking to a customer rep today and she mentioned that they are working on removing black out days for 2006. Apparently most of the delays are in the processing of the coin before and after grading and not the grading itself. They are working on getting additional equipment and extra help to make coin processing more efficient.

Has anyone heard anything more substantial? This would definately help in turnaround times.

Sorry if this is a repeat post. There was an error with the last one.

It would sure reduce the confusion when trying to calculate when a guaranteed submission is due for completion.

I think that is one of the reasons it is being considered. Too many people complain.

Elimination of blackout dates would certainly eliminate alot of confusion and phone calls to customer service. An acceptable alternative is to clearly show the blackout dates in the future.

The way things are now, I have no idea how to count the days for a submission. If you go to the submission page you only see a blackout date for FUN as Jan 4-6. If you look at the upcoming shows after FUN, I have no clue what do assume for blackout dates (if at all).

Until this is fixed, I plan to call Customer Service on the date I think the order should be done and let them explain to me why they don't owe me any freebies. If we all did this, maybe PCGS will fix this.

Ron Guth sent a letter out saying that they were planning on getting rid of the blackout dates and improve the turnaround times. Let's hope they're able to make it so.
