When it's less obvious, it must be "acceptable for the grade".
If it's cracked out and doesn't grade as high although nothing changed with the coin, it's no longer "acceptable for the grade" but rather "you shouldn't have cracked it out"
There is a difference between strike and wear. While I would not want to have to grade this coin, weakly struck coins are graded with the help of retained luster, if any, in addition to known strike characteristics and wear patterns.
Must be a user error in entering the grade into the computer. It happens. It should'nt but it does. There is supposed to be a two stage post review. Looks to be a VF30 or 35. Even with a weak strike it can't be a 55.
From what I see I think the grade could be correct. It does appear to be missing detail due to a weak strike and not wear. I would want to examine it in hand to check the luster to be sure.
