PSA/DNA whats up with these?

I was looking for some cut signatures when I stumbled across these. PSA/DNA is now slabbing cut autographed index cards with a grade? How sick is that??? Whats going on here, and still these won't register in your sets anyways. Knuckles if you see this post, you can get your autographs with a grade instead of an Authentic only mark, I think that will sell better on ebay. Doesn't matter how bad the card is it still can get a gem-mint 10 grade.

I didn't look at the PSA "requirements" for autograph grades, but for sure they are MUCH more lax here than on cards. Some of those "9's" are a joke in my opinion. Come on now PSA...that Hornsby autograph is in Mint condition?
  • I think they are grading the quality of the signature itself.

Some of those signatures clearly appear faded. A faded signature should get a 9? A old looking taped on cut signature should get a 9? Doesn't make sense at all to me.

I just sent some auto cards in to be authenticated. If I would have known this before, I would have requested this serviceimage

  • Those grades look like CRA*, imho. What are they thinking?

I knew they offered this but don't think it's worth the money to get the grade. From what I've seen from graded auto'd Mantle baseballs to various cut signatures there's little to no premium paid by buyers for 10's.

Here are the fee's for grading..

    1. For 1-3 autographs, each autograph is graded. If Autograph Authentication Fee = Grading Fee:
    $10-$49 then $15
    $50-$99 $25
    $100-$250 $50

    2. For 4+ autographs, grades are averaged $100

    3. For multi-signed items, you may request individual grades for one or more selected autographs. Call for pre-approval

  • If that Traynor is a 9 then mine must be at least a 12 or 13.
Oh alright, I just felt like showing it off...
