You know, I've been thinking all along this year that he'd much rather be the star of the show, putting up 30 a night than winning and having to share the spotlight with Shaq (or anyone else for that matter).

  • No. He definetly wants to win, he just wants to be the main reason why the team wins ala Jordan
  • damn it kobe could've easily got 100 last nite. He showed he was a team player be sitting out the 4th quarter.

    He's a team player taking 40 shots?

    Huh?

The main problem here is that he isn't Jordan. And as far as Jordan, it is hard to find someone that will steal the spotlight from the best player the game has ever seen.

Lets not forget that Kobe is still younger than Jordan was when Jordan won his first title

And your point? Jordan never had Shaq to win a title. He had Bill Cartwright.

You must not watch basketball. Nobody on that team likes to shoot the ball. Open the L.A times everyday you will see reporters ripping the team apart because kobe passes to them and they pass right back, watch TNT next time lakers play, Charles barkley, kenny smith will sit there and make fun of the lakers all day because they play hot potato with kobe, Odom sometimes gets involved but it really never works out when he takes a lot of shots. Stick to baseball/fb ax..

My point ? My point is lets not say what he is or isn't untill his career is over .

Of course overlook the fact that Jordan had one of the top 3 overall players in the game playing alongside him.

People seem to forget that when Jordan decided to try and play baseball that the Bulls came within a game or two to getting to the NBA Finals !

Jordan wasn't surrounded with a bunch of scrubs like many like to think

I know Kobe's your man, but let's look at a telling stat.

He scores 62 points, and had ZERO assists last night. ZERO.

Everyone is so quick to jump on the Kobe bandwagon, but he's no better a player than a Lebron, a T-Mac, he scores a lot of points, does it well, but that's about it. He doesn't make his teammates substanstially better like Jordan, he doesn't dish the ball like Stockton did, he shoots a lot and scores a lot of points.

People who say he's among the best players ever are the ones who don't know basketball.
  • If you define a player by one game then your right

I tend to look at what a player avg's for a season. Kobe has avg'd 6.0, 5.5, 5.9 ect assists per game per season at times in his career which is very good for a s.g

When T-mac makes the NBA All Defense team multiple times and plays on a level in the postseason that Kobe has with the endless amount of big shots he's made in his career then maybe i'll agree.

agreed. Kobe is a better player than lebron, and tmac.

Kobe is averging 32 pts. 5.4 assists 4.8 rebounds. But i guess he doesnt pass the ball well for a SHOOTING GUARD.

  • also keep in mind that kobe only took 31 shots, lowest shot total for someone that hit 62. Iverson, tmac shoot 25-20 shots on average per night...
