Granted, they are a pretty lame team, and Millen hasn't made that much of his oppurtunities, but you should hear talk radio in Detroit; not a single word about the Pistons or Red Wings, just a cascade of negative hot air about the the Lions ineptness. It's almost funny.
It's cold and gray outside but yet they line up enforce' to blame somebody outside Ford Field. All those people, all pissed off.............why? What didthey expect? Just fire more brass!

To put things in perspective, consider this:
In the summer of 2003, the Detroit Tigers lost 119 games. You had to live it to believe it. I mean, they NEVER won. EVER. The number of times I turned on the game in the 3rd inning and only to see the Tig's down by 5 or 8 runs was amazing. I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly difficult it is to lose 119 games. As bad as that was, the Lions have played WORSE football (percentage wise) over the past 4 seasons combined, and when they lose their last 2 this year, it will be a 5 year stretch of the NFL equivalent of a 119+ loss MLB season. FIVE YEARS!
Coming into the season, only one team had as few victories (16) as the Lions over the last 4 seasons, that being the Texans. Oh, one minor detail. The Texans had only been in existence for THREE YEARS. They spotted the Lions an entire season, and the Lions still couldn't win more games.
If I were a lions fan, I'd have worn bengal colors this past week, too. It's absolutely unexcuseable that a team with a new stadium, the super bowl coming to town, and high draft picks for as long as they have to CONSISTENTLY not perform. I am sure that Mariucci is glad to be out of that pit.
For what was a once proud franchise to have fallen so far, for so long, really is disappointing. I guess Barry had it right getting out when he did.
