DON'T BE A PSA ROBOT

Another great Pro graded card for your amusement.

I especially like his reference to being a "PSA robot" and "I KNOW this card would easily grade PSA 7 even 8, but I prefer to admire the card, not the company logo" - nothing like falling back on the old standby: Buy the card NOT the holder.

I should have it re-graded because there are so many PSA robots out there!!!

The guy has "charmed" me into becoming a believer - let's all buy Pro for Christmas!!!!

The guy hasn't sold anything that I can see under this ebay ID, yet says he sells a few cards - where?

He has been buying up raw - so he and Pro will probably become lifelong buddies! Be prepared for Eddie to make it thru his "chop shop" and into a better than others UV protected Pro holder!

That card sure looks like a reprint to me. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the scumbags at Pro started slabbing reprints as genuine cards

<<< This beautiful piece of sports history is a Graded 1955 Topps Henry (Hank) Aaron Card #47. It is graded by PRO (www.prograding.net #30488074) it earned a NM-MT+ grading of 8.5. (See also: www.prograding.net/encapsulation.htm, on how PRO encapsulates differently & HAS BETTER UV PROTECTION than the "chosen few") Ultra violet radiation & humidity are the main two killers of cards!! I KNOW this card would easily grade PSA 7 even 8, but I prefer to admire the card, not the company logo. Remember: Pet Rocks, Jordache Jeans, Swatch Watches, Beanie Babies, Cabbage Patch Kids and now XBOX 360's? Garbage that people pay too much for!!! Just look at some of the other '55 Aaron cards graded by them on E-bay. This card can stand in the ring with any of them. I should have it re-graded because there are so many PSA robots out there!!! Look at the pics!! They don't lie. Notice the exceptional centering, the "freshness" of the colors (especially the white on the back of the card), corners that are so sharp you could shave Fidel Castro with them! Plus, the super crisp picture of "Hammerin' Hank" doin' his thing. This is a spectacular card. Beckett lists this card on their current online price guide for $1000.00 for NM-MT!! Compare it to other graded cards that won't dare show you so many close-up pics!!! BECAUSE THIS IS A MUCH NICER CARD GRADED BY "THE OUTCASTS"!!!!!!!!!!! Many graded cards are not as special as they are hyped-up to be!! Dealers send hundreds, if not thousands of cards to be graded every year. Do you really think the companies are going to give high volume customers that feed their families a BAD grade?? Wake up and smell the mutual scratching of backs!! I mean the little plastic frame is nice but the piece of paper isn't worth double, if not quadruple the price of other graders!! Isn't it the CARD that's supposed to be worth the money??!!!! Is that piece of paper really worth your hard earned dollars? A mint card is a mint card no matter who's name is inside the frame. Look closely at what you buy!!!

If you happen to notice any scratches or black squiggly lines, they are on the frame, not the card. Also, there is an off color spot on the back of the card, again this is on the case, there are no visible discolorations on the card itself.

If these pics seen here are not conclusive evidence that this is one of the best 1955 Topps #47 Aaron cards you have ever seen, send me a msg. and I will gladly send you the other 40+ pics that I have taken (at a much higher pixel resolution for close inspection). Go to http://groups.msn.com/TheDreamTeam1 to view pics only (bottom R corner of pg.)!! No contacting, e-bay doesn't like and neither do I!! I even have video clips of the card!! I am not a professional card dealer. I sell one or two at a time and demand quality of my cards, pics and will go above & beyond the call of duty to prove the card's worth to the potential buyer.

    Come and Get It!!!!!!!!!

Bid with confidence, 100% positive feedback.

If you aren't satisfied with this card, I will gladly keep it!! Send it back for a full refund within 14 days. (You pay shipping of course (both ways), and it must be in original shape!!!) >>>

    Good for you.
  • We all know PRO is crap, but does it irk anyone that a 3rd-rate grading company can offer UV protection in their holders, while the industry leader doesn't?

That's a good point if what Pro is saying is true. Has anyone ever tested Pro's holders for UV protection? I know I won't because I 'm never buying a Pro graded card. In my opinion it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Pro's statement about their UV protection was either false or greatly exagerrated.

I actually have a Pro graded Terrell Owens rookie(it came with a PSA rookie). How would i test the UV protection?

Leaving it in a south-facing window for a few weeks should do the trick, although some modern cards have a UV coating built-in, so that might not be the best test.

Basically, it would entail damaging two cards for a comparison.

Take the same two cards from the same year, because different types of ink have most certainly been used throughout the years. Take a PSA slabbed card and a Pro slabbed card and place a piece of opaque tape across half of each card. Using the opaque tape makes it easier to see the contrast in the fading versus using no tape. Hang them both next to each other on a wall that has fairly constant roomlight and maybe also some sunlight. After approximately six months or a year, maybe less maybe more, remove the opaque tape and see which card faded the most.

A more accurate test would be to use approximately six to ten similar test cards because even with the same cards from the same year, one card may have a slightly different "coating" of ink than another, and hence may naturally fade faster than another card.

I didn't realize that. This would be using pigmented ink versus regular dye based inks. Pigmented inks are more expensive and usually it's tougher to get as vibrant a color out of pigmented inks versus dye based inks.

  • It would have been interesting to have asked this seller if he would have stood behind the card, and offered a money back refund, if the buyer had wanted to send the card in to PSA for crossover, and even specify a lower grade, just to confirm that the card had not been TRIMMED! You can send a card to PSA like that, leaving it in the original holder, specifying the minimum grade you will accept, and if they feel it's trimmed, they'll reject it accordingly--i've found THAT out the hard way!
