Coins from television, sellers?

My uncle needed some cash so, I bought the state quarters sets that he purchased from those he guys on TV. They are from 1999 to 2005 and they are the platinum gold and clad quarter sets are these equal in value to the ones issued from the mint

  • No they are not equal in value with regular state quarter sets. They may be nice to look at and you some people may like them, but they are essentially damaged coins worth a quarter a piece. image

It was nice of you to bail out your uncle, but you got stuck with a turkey, I'm afraid. Those coins have a numismatic value barely over face. You might be able to squeeze a couple bucks out of them on eBay, but you'd be well advised to just bust them out and spend them.

Don't think too many cashiers are going to be accepting gold plated quarters. Shouldn't have to much trouble trying to spend the platinum ones though.

    It'd be fun to try!
