What do you guys think?
Im sure his personal reasons for staying in school he made the right choice for himself but from a financial standpoint did he cost himself big bucks? Whether or not he has a big game against Texas I think last year he would have been clearly # 1 but this coming draft Im not sure.

determine if he will ever do anything.
I can think of sooooo many busts over the past years with QB's taken early. The game is just completly different. He won't be lining up
against Washington St, or the Beavers, this is the NFL, guys will eat him for lunch. I don't think he is top 5 material.

I think so. Simply put, it's one less year he can spend in the NFL making money. He didn't need any maturation, and winning national title(s) and the heisman is the pinnacle of a college football career. Money isn't everything, but I never really understood the decision... plus the slim chance of him getting a career ending injury in college was still real. And hell isn't he taking ballroom dancing for college credit?!
-He's still going to be among the top 3 picks (likely #2)
-He was coming off a heisman trophy and national title - why not go another round?
-He's still going to make a TON of money, even at 'just' #3
-He didn't want to play for the 49ers (can you blame him?) and thought another team might suck worse this year
-He was the BMOC at USC, so why not (a) get a degree and (b) be the big man for another year?
There are countless reasons why he stayed, and he hasn't cost himself hardly any money at all, he is going to graduate, and he will get paid.
On a serious note, money isn't everything. That's true. It was a personal decision he made and I wish more guys would do it. But I'm sure he did cost himself some money (factoring in a couple spot drop in draft picks and one less year in the NFL). The difference could be say, $10 million, which sounds like a lot. But there's not a lot of difference really between $60 million and $70 million.

Shawn.
Separate from all of this, it was his personal decision to make and not everyone bolts for the money in their second year of college.
I would almost think that the Texans would trade down, and pick up another draft pick.
