That is impressive !!!
You didn't, by chance, keep a record of how much of that was silver vs clad, did you?
For face value, that is still great....wondering "additional" value as well though
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Wow....No, I did not keep track. I had a silver half (1954) a month or two back.
I had two quarters. One was a 1937 and one was 1964.
I think I had two or three dimes
I had one war nickel
Jerry
So here is the breakdown...
297 pennies - $2.97
85 dimes - $8.50
65 nickels - $3.25
52 quarters - $13.00
2 Halves - $1.00
grand total of $28.72 or $.0572 per coin.... (lol)
I have about a pint in a peanut jar. Maybe $20.
cents----------4,156
nickels-----------341
dimes----------1330
quarters-------1331
halves---------------4
dollars---------------3

In years past I've cashed in my coins and bought slabbed stuff with the money. For example, with that $163 in 1999 I bought a PCGS MS65 1880-S Morgan and a PCGS MS64 1935 Peace (the Peace looks like it could upgrade).
Both have appreciated pretty nicely since then, I'd guess I could sell them on eBay for $250 or so now. That's better than 50% return, plus the coins make a nice trophy--something cool to remember the toil in the soil.

Nice to have a hobby that pays for itself, eh?!
Happy hunting in 2006,
