Isn't it a Dinar from Iran (shah period, pre 1980)?
Always interested in St Louis MO & IL metro area and Evansville IN national bank notes and Vatican/papal states coins and medals!

Iran
2 rials
Edited to say silver?
The date is loctaed under the ribbon I can read the first two numbers as 1 - 3 -
the next two are faded but look like a 2 - 9
so it maybe SH1329 / 1950 AD about
Edited severeal times because I had to download the image and blow it up.

Ok let me be definitive.
Iran
2 Rials
0.6000 Silver
here's where I'm unsure someone with a knowledge of Arabic numbers can verify.
1329/1950
Value: $100.00 in VF
If it is truly a 1329/1950 it is the rarest of 2 Rials.

The date looks to me like 1322 AH which would be 1944 CE.
My old Yeoman coin catalog shows these being made from 1322 to 1338 (1944-1960).
If it is 1944, then it might have been brought home by a serviceman.

Ok we may need a poll: (Or a clearer picture)
WillieBoyd2 says: 1322/1943------VF...$1.00
tbirde56 says: 1324/1945----------VF...$5.00
Man says: 1329/1950---------------VF...$100.00
Here's the numbering system for those not familiar.

It being silver does that help? I am having a blond moment.
Which side needs to be clearer?
