Don't know about that.. Game used bats.. jerseys.. vintage autographs of deceased hofers... they've all been going for mind blowing amounts this year.

  • Everthing from Signed jersey's all the way down to un-used world series tickets...... Probably depends on the player? George Brett, Nolan ryan are the 2 I have collected.

I think it also depends on the quantity of the item in question.

E.g. from Brett's 3000 hit game - a GU ball, signed by Brett would have less quantity than the ticks.

Or, how about a lineup card starting Williams and signed by the manager Boudreau.

And last, altho not as popular as in the late 80s early 90s - WS press pins: these have a bit more significance since it was the only WS the Dodgers won in NY.

This kind of memorabilia will always have a demand IMO.

I also have 5 unused game 5 W.S tickets, newspaper's, buttons, glasses, folders, Post Office issue envelope ect from that world series...........Thats all good and I got all the things pretty dang cheap but I happen to have been around Brett at numorus events ect and cant stand the Guy.............LOL

  • The card market has been in the dumps, but these guys above are dead-on, vintage memorabilia marketplace is thriving. Look at all these auction houses like MastroNet and Sportscards Plus getting bought or UD starting their new UD Auctions. There is good money in old stuff.

The card market is just feeling the wrath of decades of overproduction. I am hoping that with the new issue market down to just two in Baseball, Fleer gone altogether, and MLB and others making a big marketing push to renew interest in card collecting in kids, that we see demand rise and supply tighten in the coming years to bring that part of the hobby back.

I think its going to get worse in the short term though once all that Fleer game used inventory starts hitting eBay. Could be some phenomenal buys ahead but prudence would tell you stick to cards from the 70's and older right now and if you sell on eBay, make sure you've got a reserve or high starting bid.
