Very hard to tell from a scan,
    but

    Type 2 66 cam.

possibly 67 depending on smudges at 6 o'clock on obverse, and 8 o'clock on rev.

From what I am told lately DCAM needs tgo be much whiter and the fields more liquid.

  • The mild spots on obverse and reverse have more "cameo" then the devices: getting a cameo designation out of PCGS is unlikely, IMHO, based on the scans.

You didn't ask, and I should already be running for cover, but perhaps this is a good coin to try cleaning up in MS70???? As is, it's maybe a $15 proof so there isn't much to lose...... NCS would restore this coin to healthy status at a reasonable cost if you are attached to it. Rob

In my experience PCGS automatically downgrades big time with milk spots. I agree this may be one of the rare instance a coin needs light dipping. Especially if it is a $15 coin in this condition. Grading will cost as much as the coin. Copper is a lot tougher to clean than silver. You should be OK, I doubt you will get the same reaction you got on the lincoln.
  • Nice score if it's a TY 1. I'll take it off your hands image

first of all let me apologize, as I no longer have a working scanner so I did this at work. what i find weird about it is on the rev, the lower left hand corner of the bell, it looks like theres a thicker colored cameo portion, if im saying that right, almost like spot on a rug image

anyhow ive been digging thru old boxes that just ended in the closet and forgotten. Its fun to find old stuff you didnt know you had. If anyone wants to dip and image this let me know, would be nice to see what it would look like properly done.

edited to add could that spot also be a milk spot inside the lower left of the bell?
