A good question, I would like people opinion on this, because one of these days I will go back beyond Trade Dollars and get some silver dollars of those expensive years.....
Collection under construction: VG Barber Quarters & Halves
VG grade and below Bust dollars still have room for price increases?
oh my yes YES
they are in great demand but the problem is there is little to no supply
but let me qualify this statement
i am talking about bust dollars that are vg and below vg good ag fair condition that still have good eye appeal and no problems and with early coins like this it is extremely hard to find
usually vg and below bust dollars have major problems like uneven wear due to a weak strike where the obverse of the coin is vg and the reverse close to slick in the middle or holed or cleaned polished just plain butt ugly bent filed nicked up etc.
find a decent eye appeal problem free vg good ag fair bust dollar and they will sell for strong prices and be in huge demand the problem is little supply of such problem free coins in vg or less hence little supply cant have demand but when you do see them they keep selling for stronger prices even slicks that are problem free sell for 400 dollars and a slick with a hole in it will sell for over 150!! i saw a crappy vg with an almost slick reverse large eagle common dafe 1799 sell for 950 raw!!
so there is huge room for price increases if you got one again vg or less problem free and this just does not happen with early dollars and halves anything that is usually below fine has problems just from wear and circulation use and old age
and with the bust dollars being strong money in vf and basically only for the rich above vf any clean problemfree eye appealling bust dollar in vg or less will sell for storng money as if you do not like the price someone else will buy it and then youm will not see it ever again

and there is huge demand which will never be satisified for eye appealling problem free vg and below bust dollars
as usually you cant use problem free eye appealling vg and below bust dollars in the same sentence
