What'd your boss say, "Merry Christmas you're fired"? Back in 1981 I had 15 employees, and had just had a new building built for my machine shop and had bought 2 new machines. I had an employee party planned for the 23rd (I think) and had bonus checks to give them. On the day of the party I got a call from my largest customer cancelling all my work. I let them enjoy the day, and gave them their bonuses. At the end of the party I told them the party was really over. It was pretty hard on me letting them go at that time of the year. The shop didn't recover until the economy came back in 1984, and then I had only 1 of my original workers. Life can be tough, and it is right now for a lot of industrial workers with all our manufacturing being given away to foriegn countries. Good luck, Tom.
Sorry to hear it..... Seem's like the least he could have done would be let you finish out this tax year? Not to mention, I wish all employer's were required to give 2 week's notice, As is considered by employee's to do, Especially if you plan using them as a reference.....
Maybe this is the time to consider being self-employed? File for Unemployment, Apply for a small business loan? Just remember, you were looking for a job when you found that one....... I'll have to look for a pic......
lost my job of 25 yrs, went into biz myself, its never been better.everything happens for a reason,....my frigging wife always used to say that and it drove me crazy, but lately i agree with it.....
I too feel your pain. My boss flew in on 11/04, handed me an award for 25 years service from one of the companies we represented and said, by the way, your services are no longer needed.
That sucks. No colorful Morgans, but I was trying to get something close. Had a picture of a double rainbow taken by a person named Morgan, but I can't find it.
I always hate to hear of folks losing their jobs around the holidays........one of my best friends at work is losing her job tomorrow and she doesn't even know it I feel like a heal for not telling her but I can't take a chance on losing my own job as she might go off the deep end when she finds out and they would know right away who told her.........doesn't feel good I can tell you that...
I hope this provides a little bit of cheer for you....
