suggestion to ebay

Dear ebay,
I propose the following: Add to the list of feedback options (positive, neural, negative) "I am too freakin lazy to leave feedback".
I know this comes up on the boards quite often, but I sold $1400 in cards last month in 7 auctions. Of the 7 auctions I received 1 feedback and it was from a guy who I refunded his money. The reason this bothers me is that when buying higher priced items from some one I like to look through their feedback to make sure this is the sort of thing they sell. When no one leaves feedback it hurts buyers and sellers. Sorry for the rant.

How many did you leave?
as a buyer I leave feedback after I receive mine.
If I am unhappy with a transaction I email the seller first.
If I am happy and was not left feedback i move on.
SD
you mean in transactions that you were not involved in? if that is the case how would you even know if a transaction even took place?
SD
correct?
and I was confused as to that part of the statement.
or did you mean that as a seller you want people to see what you have sold??
sorry im thick tonite.
I think I gotcha.
if so I agree.

I have done 2587 EBAY transactions (buy and sell). I have left feedback on all but two of these transactions.
I have received feedback on 2162 transactions.
2162 divided by 2585 = 84%
16 % of the time I do not recieve feedback.
I always leave feedback right away...when I get the item or when the item is paid for.....
1955 Bowman Raw complete with 90% Ex-NR or better
Now seeking 1949 Eureka Sportstamps...NM condition
Working on '78 Autographed set now 99.9% complete -
Working on '89 Topps autoed set now complete
I'll throw in my $.02 on feedback and ebay...
We get a payment, we immediately leave positive feedback, then e-mail the buyer to let him know we have left feedback and that the card will ship the next day, then we ship the next day. And to date, have never have had a problem or complaint with the feedback system or any buyers.
Looking at recent sales, positive feedback comes back in return for about 91% of our latest 150 sales (the other 9% have yet to leave feedback). And that's fairly high volume, lots of individual sales, lots of small $ cards that might otherwise be forgotten.
I've had a few large $$ items go without any feedback which is definitely frustrating, but give it some time. I often get feedback many months after a sale and that's just the way it goes. I think the feedback system is fantastic, and never understand sellers who complain about not getting feedback. Even though it's nameless, faceless transactions, ebay is indeed a real business market. In fact, probably the largest centralized consumer goods market in the world (although even that's a limiting classification, as it's a wholesale market, a currency market, a real estate market etc) And there are no free gimmes in a real business market. You deserve what you get and you get what you deserve, both as a buyer and seller. Too many people play too many games with feedback, then complain when it doesn't work for them (not talking about anyone in particular, just generalizing). Everyone - buyers and sellers - need to remember ebay is the most raw form of a capitalist marketplace. And it can go the way of a seedy black market or the way of wall street (for good or bad, but at least fair and right) very quickly. And it is up to the market participants which way it goes.
Recently, after feeling some guilt from reading posts like these, I started to leave feedback right away after I get paynment. I have found that I get a lot less feedback from buyers when they recieve the item.
My thought is that if I wait until 1 week after I ship, I am not holding the feedback hostage, but I am leaving them feedback when they already have the card in hand and usually reciprocate the feedback. If I leave feedback and 5-7 days go until the item is in the buyers hand, they may not remember to leave feedback or what not, because I left it for them a week ago. This is just my take on this and have now tried it both ways. I do not condone holding feedback hostage, but by waiting a week and getting more feedback left for me I think is a viable option that I will go back to from now on.
