Edward VII... INTERESTING QUESTION

Okay... this is the question... which coin do you believe is tougher to get in VF and higher... a 1905 Canadian Half Dollar or a 1905 British Half Crown?

I was watching that one, unfortunately no funds to make a strong bid. I think it'll slab out at VF30 to EF40, the vertical beads in the crown are all there.
Nice pick up!

However, the Canadian Edward VII 25cents and 50cents are not easy to find in VF or better IMO.
I would respectfully disagree about the 1905 halfcrown. It is one of the most common forgeries found among British coinage. I recently had a chance to evaluate and buy a high grade 1905, which turned out to be a fake (thank goodness I had reservations about buying it). It was very unfortunate for the dealer who had purchased it as he paid a hefty high price for it - doubly sad because he is a good guy too.
If you mean that the date is undervalued, I would definitely agree with that. But then again, so are about 90% of the coins, relatively speaking.
Part of my reasoning for the legendary status for the 1905 1/2 Crown is that the overwhelming majority of these coins entered circulation and few exist in MS or even EF/VF grades. In my view, the fact that it was counterfeited adds to the whole status of its true rarity and how desirable the coin is... I will eventually own one of these in some grade someday...
