Home Metal Detecting

Photos??????

Ok folks. I want to post some pictures of the finds we have been making this summer and last week from Amedee CA. It's an old gohst town from the 1870 and 1880's. We have been getting a lot of nice seated pieces, but when I try to attach them to the board, they come back as being "to big".....image

Any help?????

The maximum image file size you can upload to the board is 50 kb.
    You can either:
    i) Reduce the size of your pictures to below 50k and upload them here (this is quite easy to achieve if you have a image processing program that enables reducing the .jpg quality). 50kb is actually a lot... but full .jpg quality eats a lot of space without much visible improvement of the image quality. You can also simply resize the pictures (less pixels), but then there's the risk that they become quite small before you get below 50k.
    or
ii) You can upload your pictures to another site (e.g. photobucket) that doesn't have this size limitation

In both cases you then include your pictures in your post by creating links to them using the Image icon. The difference will be that in case i) you write a link to the collectors universe server ( http://forums.colllectors.com//attachments/yourpicturename.jpg ), while in case ii) you type in another URL (depending on where you have uploaded your images)

Then link up the picture into your message here by using the "image" button...

    Hope that helps!

  • Thanks. I'll see what happens............image
  • Ok. Let's see if this worked. First picture.
    second picture.

    The Half is a 1959-S.
    The Quarter is 1954 w/arrows.
    And the dimes are 1891-S, 1887-S, 1857 and 1875.
The nails are the common square nails used around here in the 1800's. The casino chip was found in front of our court house in Lassen County. Not sure why it was there though...... The Merc dime was also in front of the old jail which is next door to the court house. I also attached a photo of Amedee where all the seated dimes and quarter were found. Last week my partner found an 1858 Half at this same location.

  • Those are some wonderful digs, man. I'm envious!

I have yet to find my first Seated but that is my goal for next year as soon as it warms up and I'd have more time to detect.
