thanks you for talking coins.

what series of coins have potential in low grades based on how rare
or scarce ?
I admit I am confused about the 2005 sms coins. so ill just forget it
what i have noticed is that people on this forum like to talk about coins and, (speculate) on grades and, values.
I like to look at pictures of coins that people post here.
oppinions are well recived from other members.
I want to make money on coins that i buy and sell.
i also like to keep the best looking at them when im board.
A 63 morgan in pcgs holder at 36 dollars a piece is a good value.
a 65 at over 120 isnt.
but a ms 65 cc dmpl is truly rare..
what do you veterans and, noobie collectors like to buy for profit?

Not the right approach. You should learn more about them. We will all learn about them in time. But go slow on them is a good approach.
<<<<what i have noticed is that people on this forum like to talk about coins and, (speculate) on grades and, values.>>>>
It is fun indeed to do that sort of thing. That is also how we learn.
<<<<I like to look at pictures of coins that people post here.>>>>
That is great. That is also how we learn.
<<<<oppinions are well recived from other members.>>>>>
Not sure what you mean by this statement.
<<<<<I want to make money on coins that i buy and sell.>>>>>
The best way to make money on coins that you buy is generally to buy AND HOLD not buy and sell. By the way, another important rule to "make money" to to learn as MUCH AS YOU CAN BEFORE BUYING and secondly, focus on what coins are undervalued at the current time not necessarily what is the "hot" coin of he moment.

Ok.

Now what would really be cool is to start a thread to discuss this and to support your argument with analysis and facts. There will be many opinions and contradicting "opinions and facts."

I instead like to focus on what look like "good buys" for the money even if it meams paying premium money for extraordinary coins. Once in a lifetime coins, etc. What veterans like to buy does change from year to year and keep in mind that we play it close to the vest as to not give away all of our "secrets."
For someone like yourself, the best thing you can do is to obtain a free copy of the Elllesmere Coins "Winning Edge" pamphlet on the best 650 or so coins to buy. It is not the specifics that they suggest that is important but better to understand the concept that they preach. It is just one of many approaches but you can learn by learning for the best of each approach.
in other words i am thankfull for your reply.
i have made mistakes , i spent alot of money on coins that were slabbed by a different grading company other than the two big ones.
some of the coins were a good buy for the grade of ms65 but, since the holder was of another company they sold for what i had paid for them. even loosing a a couple hundred.
next time i will simply crack the good ones with full luster and, submitt to pcgs.
many of the coins were ms65 but, some may have been cleaned or dipped from the lack of frost and clean fields. for these morgans,
i paid $ 55 a piece sold them for close to the same.
if the holder was better i may have gotten much more.
even though i would like to buy raw coins, it doesnt seem like you get what you barggin for based on descriptions.
I would like to buy raw coins in bulk but,
i think there are to many variables for a fair deal.
although i did buy a 1925 d $5 indian head slabbed 63 sgs.
it was so nice . the price $580 sells in pcgs holder for over a $1000.
so i guess im gonna have to crack it out.
thats is my frustration with coins on the internet, even from major dealers. so were do i go from here ?
Most importantly, try to have fun and don't take any insults personally!

Dealers make most of the profit. Some collectors do well--and those that do tend to have a good eye for quality, a narrow specialty and a love of the hobby. Keep in mind, that for most, it takes years to develop that eye, even if talented and exposed to lots of coins. If untalented with limited coins to look at, it may never happen.
New mint products can sometimes be flipped for a decent profit. Keep your ear to the ground for 2006.
It is tough to turn 10% on common Morgans, MS63, 64 or 65. Margins tend to be paper thin on those, unless you can buy at wholesale and sell at retail. If you could do that, you wouldn't be asking about it, you'd be doing it. A nice Morgan in MS65 for $120 is a good buy, a dog MS63 even at $30 isn't. If you don't know a nice coin from a dog, be very careful out there, because the sharks will eat your lunch and you won't even know it until it is too late.
