Favre Leaning 95% Towards Retirement

I know people have doubts when others make these claims but all I can tell you is what I know. Someone very close to Favre who has a financial interest in his career has been informed that the future HOF QB is leaning 95% towards retirement. After a season like this who can blame him and he could always change his mind but I'm pretty confident that this will be his final year.
I wish he could have went out like Elway but that ain't going to happen image

Yes, he should retire. But Favre has talked about retirement before and of course not done it. It wouldn't be one bit surprising if he comes back. Unfortunately, Favre might be the type of athlete that will have to be "dragged away" from a sport rather than him walking away.
  • It's a 2 for 1 if Favre goes, Sherman will be fired for sure.
  • I think he stays, who would want to go out like this.....
    Am I speaking Chinese?

  • Well as I said he could always change his mind but I'm pretty confident in my source.
  • Of course he is going to retire, all players end up leaving the game at some point. Look at Clemens, he was like 95% leaning towards retiring after the Yankees, but came back.

Favre won't retire this year...he's too stubborn to think that this type of season will be his last...he'll give it one more go next year, and try to go out with a winning team (although the packers won't be winning the super bowl, going out 4-12 or whatever isn't what Favre wants I am sure).

    No way.

Not only because of the bad year but because he is gunning for Marino's all-time TD record.

In fact he wont retire next year either. 2 more seasons then he's gone.

    Enjoy him while you can.

    Loves me some shiny!

yeah he could of gone out like Elway..crappy for years and good for 2 with the help up a HOF RB. or like Favre, dominate for years and
crappy for the last 2 with no RB help.

I would take Favre's trek anyday

I can't see that being a reason to stay because it won't be long until Peyton Manning owns that record, too.

Elway was crappy for years? huh?

And let's not forget that Favre played with some incredibly talented players in his playoff runs.

Your revisionist history is absolutely ridiculous...no wonder you idolize monsters like Stalin.

I don't think Favre could allow this miserable season be his last. I hope that if he comes back next year, that his team can stay healthy enough for him to make a final playoff run.

He should retire with his leadership skills intact. But he's got a few years left in him, no more, with the right opportunity. Regards.
