3rd Annual Caring Numismatists at Christmas Charity Drive and Auctions have topped the $4000 mark. C

Second and FINAL Charity Auction.

For latest tally go to Page Four of this thread. The Auctions may be closed but the Drive is still very much alive

Actual US shipping rates will be applied to each item. This will either be US Priority Mail or Flat Rate Shipping depending on what is involved, insured if the winner so desires (recommended) and with Delivery Confirmation, for Track & Confirm purposes.

    ITEM #1:
Up for auction, in support of the Boom Foundation, is a one-day sailing experience on the SV Lazybones, hailing port East Greenwich, RI.

The winner of this auction will be responsible for their own transportation to and from East Greenwich Yacht Club in RI and for their own accommodations should they decide to stay the night.

What the winner DOES get is:

An afternoon of sailing on Narraganset Bay for two people
    Light lunch
    Beverages

The value of a private four-hour charter of this type would be in the neighborhood of $500.00.

THE RULES: This offer will be for the upcoming, 2006 sailing season which begins in June. I will, to the best of my weather forecasting ability, offer five different days for the winner to choose from. There is no guarantee of wind or weather, however, this will not keep the boat from leaving the mooring on the day chosen. The boat pictured below is the boat you will be sailing on. It is a Nonsuch 30 Classic built by Hinterhoeller Yachts of St. Catherines, Ontario. It is fully equipped and carries a current USCG Safety Certificate.

    image
Imagine! THIS could be YOU having all this fun!

Okay...Here are the open sailing dates:

MAY: Monday 22 thru Thursday 25

    JUN: Monday 05 thru Thursday 08 & Monday 19 thru Thursday 22

    JUL: Monday 17 & Tuesday 18

AUG: Monday 21 thru Wednesday 23

SEP: There may be a couple of dates that open up in Sep. I don't usually schedule anything at this time because the weather is always iffy.

PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS WITH REGARD TO THIS AUCTION.

    Cheers,

    Bob

I think that just about covers it. Everybody, PLEASE check to make sure that everything is in order here and that the amounts due are in fact correct.

All of these items were donated by my friend, Mr John Plowman, an active participant in the Washington Quarter Registry across the street. This Charity owes John a debt of gratitude for without this One Man's compassion and generosity there would not have been a second auction.

Total realized here grosses a whopping- $847.50 minus the PayPal fees (which have been consistantly 3.2% which would come to $27.12 when collected) which will be taken care of as promised. It would therefore be safe to say that this second auction will have netted $820 less S/H unless tacked on by the winners. I do not have the exact figures before me but from memory, thus far, not counting any further donations, this Drive, because of all of you has brought in well over $4000, a figure that may stand as a record for many years to come.

On behalf of the entire Numismatic Community it gives me great pleasure to now really get to work and to represent you all. There is still MUCH to be done...believe me...hey, but for me, it's a Labor of Love. Truth be known, money has already begun to be distibuted with the very first donation being given to Toys for Tots. This is undoubtedly going to be the most fulfilling Christmas to date.

I am grateful beyond words to all that saw fit to give on behalf of the many lives you will touch this year. Thank you One and All. This is truly outstanding. imageimageimage

I will keep you posted but first it looks like I have a few labels to print, postage to pay and a whole lot of shipping to do.image

Everybody, PLEASE double check my figures along with the results.

I also want to publicly thank LeeG for all his help along with Jabba and hiyosilver. They and many more here, have huge hearts of Gold and I for one will not soon forget any one of you. I also want to thank Outhaul. Thanks Bob. Until later. image

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank David Hall for permitting me to use this venue for this most worthy cause. Thank you David and thanks also goes out to SM1 and Ms Carol.image

Done...thanx for the heads up! Also, if you have a sizeable order know that if I use Priority Mail Flat Rate BOX, the Shipping alone is $7.70 plus insurance. We are going to use actual USPS rates here.

If you have a smaller order the least we can get by with is $3.85 for Priority Mail and then the actual rate for insurance if so desired.

PEOPLE, understand that the USPS is quite busy and if it were ME, I wouldn't take chances and not insure my packages. Right now I am way overdue in receiving Priority Mail and in some cases it has taken a week for Priority Mail to reach me, so if you want your items in a timely fashion, let's get moving and I'll start printing up labels.

Unless you add for S/H the funds to ship your items will be deducted from what you send in for the Charity Drive.

If you do not know my PayPal address, just PM me. I have a lot to do and right now I am in the shipping mode so if you want your items, let's get it on!

    Thanx,

    B00M

Lindedad is paid and is in the process of being packaged and prompted for shipping. Thanx Syl.

I will post the final numbers when I am done shipping. I would appreciate all winners contacting me before paying so that shipping expenses can be discussed.

Millertime has paid for his winnings and is also being prepped for shipping. Thanx Shane.

See above for Payments Pending as well as Payments received & shipped and those that are being processed.

If this thread gets shoved too far back before I finish business at hand, I will need to copy and pate the results to the front page.

We have a couple newcomers that are not aware of the fact that this thread is no longer stuck to the top and need help finding it.

I still have a lot of posting and editing to do. It ain't over yet.image
