check out this ebay auction - item# 8735614632.

What do you think of this guy's story? I 'm leaning towards beleiving it since why would he tell it if he was trying to scam? Wonder if it will affect the price?

Not worth the risk. You would only open the slab to open the pack. Anything else is way too risky.

My ebay rule is this: Anyone who has a story is lying. I know that's not 100% true, but it's the safe way to bet.

Also, there's no way someone puts this up without a reserve if this story is true. If the pack only sells for a fraction of what it would bring in the holder then you'd be better off opening it and praying for a Pafko, Matthews or Mantle.

Scam all the way! He states " No paypal on this one", thats a red flag for me. His feedback is also only 15! Just another scam.

it does look almost exactly like the same pack.. i'm almost inclined to believe the story, but was he really hoping to resubmit and get better than a 6.5?

I agree. It looks the same to me but he probably went through it, got what he wanted and resealed it. Then made up this story to re-sell it.

true, but he could have just photoshopped his pack into a picture of a gai holder so it would look identical.

also if you submit something for a "regrade" why would you open it? and if you did, why send them the empty wrapper too? too convenient that you don't get the old holder.
