    shouldnt this be BST ?

    Ay Yup!!!

Noticed a lot more blatant selling going on here with many being liteside coins. OK with me, I guess, but it really should be BST. Or if not, you need to feature your few Darkside coins with comments on their history, engraver, etc,. so we can learn. Hey, it's the price of the Ad (which is what this member posted). image

Regular Darkside members can post their SSP's all day long and I love it, because they invest on a regular basis time, education, images, cogent opinions, etc.; they have earned their SSP's.image

Mojo's been a Darksider for a while, and has some Darkside listings in there. Cut 'im a little slack.

I try to do all my SSP here on the Weekend Swap threads, now, though.

I think one SSP thread per member per week is o.k., more than that might be an issue. However that is only my opinion.image

Maybe we should all cut out the SSP stuff altogether and make the Weekend Swap a Weekly Swap that's open all the time. I would say let's just create one thread and keep it for all time as the Darkside BST thread, but a weekly thread is probably better in case some folks forget to edit or update their listings.

I wonder if there would be a way to create a thread and have the mods lock it at the top while only allowing members one post each in that thread?

Yes, that was what I thought about, but then there would be all sorts of old or out-of-date stuff in there, some it from people who'd long gone Yeti.

Best to do a weekly thread like we do now, but just make it the Weekly Swap instead of the Weekend Swap.

I like the SSPs...the ones from the regulars anyway (I've bought a few things here and there), and the regulars often do a giveaway too. I can see it getting to be too many though, so maybe it should be limited to the week-end swap, or those with a giveaway image if it starts getting too out of control.

I see nothing wrong with the SSPs either- I liked Dead King's suggestion of one per member per week.

One per week with no ttt????

I don't mind the SSP too much. When this SSP first began, there was an unwritten law that the thread originator have a giveaway every once in a while. Not necessarily for every SSP, but every so often.

I generally dislike the SSPs from folks that seem to do nothing but.

Deja vu all over again. Didn't we just finish having this conversation two days ago? image

Even if I never SSP'ed, I like SSPs from others because some of the best Brit coins I have in my collection come from the members here. I don't see abuse of the system, so why change it?

The only new point made here is jamminj's - and I agree with it. That said, few abuse that situation. The only flagrant abuser I know about is petercoins.

The SSPs are one of the main reasons I vist the world forum (other than the pretty pictures). BST bites... It moves too fast and there are very few darkside there. I've bought stuff from more than half the people in this thread because of SSPs.

I know I have been called insane on numerous occasions, but now I really am starting to wonder.

I thought we did have this conversation a few days ago concerning a DARKSIDE BST.

A yahoo group did get set up for selling only Darkside, and I would encourage all to use it, especially if the person in question tends to have a large inventory at all times. Why not expose that inventory to all of the members regularly at a place where they know where to come and check out the wares for sale?

I believe Civitas set up the group, so check out the old post called DARKSIDE BST? from sometime last week.

I think if sellers listed their specialties too, they would find a lot of happy buyers who don't want to wade through a very poorly set up (re: crappy) Liteside BST (which is essentially what it is).

Nick's right- Civitas did set up such a BST forum for us. I took a peek at it but was rushed for time. I don't recall reading much of the original discussion but I saw it at least in passing.
