Would never happen...why would Manny want to go to that inept organization?

There's been a lot of talk, but I find it highly unlikely manny would accept it.
  • I think Tejada uses steroids. And I believe that because Jose Canseco says so. Gosh, feels so stupid to say, but it's true. Not to mention Raffy pointing fingers at his vitimins. Something's going on.

Anyways, I agree. Bad trade for Manny and really bad trade for the Sox.

Bottom line is if it ain't Pujols, it's going to be a bad trade talent-wise. I'm beginning to think the Sox are coming to that conclusion as well, and think we'll see Manny starting in LF on opening day, happy or not.

Will not happen in my opinion. Manny will be in a Sox uniform next year and be happy some days and unhappy other days..its that simple, and he will put up better #'s than Tejada. Ofcourse Im no GM so who the hell knows what can happen but you dont have to be a genius to figure that would not be a smart move in Beantown.
  • While I appreciate Mannys output, I have never liked his seemingly lack of hustle.
Many times his attitude is of indiference.

  • As an Orioles fan I think it would be a great trade for the Sox. I woule personally rather keep Tejada. Manny may be more of a force offensively but Tejada puts up very strong numbers offensively too and without the great protection in the line up like Manny has. Besides that Miguel is a great defensive player and a team leader. Something you can not say about Manny. Tejeda comes to play everyday and gives 100% everyday. It would also fill the hole at SS for the Sox. IMO Tejada is the best SS in the game. Compare his numbers to Jeter and Tejada brings the same intangibles. I for one hope the O's can smoothe things over and keep Miguel.
  • I think Baltamore would need to throw in a prospect to make this an even trade.

Manny's not going anywhere - the Sox could never get equal value for him, and could never sell getting rid of Manny to Red Sox Nation.

So, he'll just have to suck it up. I agree with Gammons recent quote on this situation -

<< <i>For $160 million, it is Ramirez's job to accept some adult responsibility. He can ask to be traded, but he has no right to demand one. He can sit at home and forfeit $57 million, or he can forfeit the last three years and pay $40 million in damages to be a free agent. >>

He knew that going in to his signing...he went for the big money, now he's whining about it?

He knew that he'd be playing in the same division as the yankees and red sox - this didn't just happen. Both Ny and Boston have been successful for a good period of time, and Baltimore has not.

He needs to shut his mouth and collect his paycheck and put up numbers...Baltimore isn't going to deal their best player, let alone to a team in the same division.
  • Manny has sold off all his bats and jerseys and his palatial apartment is on the market for $3 mill? Seems like he knows something we don't.

Personally I'd like to see him finish his career in Boston.

Why is it attitude and lack of wanting to play in Boston so accepted by the fans there? 'That's just Manny being Manny' I hear all the time...but TO voices his being unhappy and he's a malcontent?

Manny doesn't even hustle in the field, he listens to his MP3 player during games, etc. etc. TO never takes plays off, but TO is somehow all that is bad in the sportsworld? Manny needs to learn to play team baseball or get the hell out. His batting accomplishments don't mean he doesn't have to play the rest of the game.
