Just got an email message claiming to be from Paypal saying

that my payment had been sent, when I knew that I hadn't made a payment in a couple of weeks. I don't know if this scam's been posted yet.

That's the omega watch scam, or something like that. It can't hurt to open the email and forward it to spoof@paypal.com but DO NOT CLICK on any link within the email. Forward and delete. Or just delete.

  • I send a copy of the questionable items via e-mail to: notification@ebay.com If anyone knows of a way to block these, please let me know. I have never figured out how to as they always come in from service@paypal.com.

  • I got a spoof mail from paypal addressed to my name (yes my full name was on that spoof mail) that I paid for an ipod. The reason why I know it's spoof right away (spoof paypal invoice) is because I turned off my html in my yahoo account. I know paypal always sent invoice in text form. The spoof mail (message body) are in html except for my name. I checked my paypal account before opening the html and everything is ok (no charges).

I only use that email for paypal. If these scammers could read ebay's auction page (the programming) how come they know my full name since you only link up paypal's email on the auction page. I didn't even use my real name when I open a yahoo email nickename is just my last name. There is probably a security flaw in paypal's system.
