Is there a set you are ASHAMED of that you are collecting?

For me it's the Tim Couch master set (in all PSA 10).

He was a "bust" I suppose but he was the first new Brown I rooted for once the team came back. Right now it's Charlie Frye (and I am collecting 10s of him as well and pretty much any other Brown).

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

1970 Kellogg without a doubt--as soon as I get to 100 sets I am going to sell it to Dave. After that 1976 Hostess--what did I ever buy that for?

None ... all of my sets are super cool and ahead of their time! image

BTW, all of the "ashamed of" sets mentioned so far are nice cards. Just my opinion.

No way! Those cards are cool! You should be proud not ashamed. I bet it's not easy finding those cards graded though.

Well I know that it's not sportscards per se, but I have it on good word that bobsbbcards collects My Little Ponies:

  • I love my 1969 Brady Bunch set. Gets a little weird asking for a Marcia Brady #65 card at the card show.

Ashamed of 1970 Kelloggs?? As the #2 set holder, if you've got any 10s I need I'd be glad to erase some of your shame!! image

I don't know if I'm ashamed of any set that I collect, but I am somewhat ashamed at how much I know about Dan Marino cards. I know almost every variation and the story behind many of the oddball, tough to find parallels. Being a tax accountant, I wish my knowledge of the tax code was 1/2 as good as my knowledge of Dan Marino cards image

The set I am most reluctant to tell anybody I collect is the 1988-89 Fleer Basketball set in PSA 9.

  • not PSA but years ago I had a complete Charlie's Angels set. Cause a kid on my block was a huge fan,
had CA cards like I have 1967 cards and gave me a set after I did a favor for the family.

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards

see I didn't have that problem because I only wanted Maureen McCormick (then...not now...not since Love Boat)
