Looking for info on Philippine mints sets

Do you have or have you seen any of these in their original packaging?

MS1 1936 3 coin, Commenwealth commems
MS2 1947 2 coin, MacArthur Peso and 50c
MS3 1958 5 coin, regular circulation coins
MS4 1970 2 coin, Pope visit commems. KM202a (silver) were struck in San Francisco, I'm not sure where KM202 (cn) were struck. Where were the sets put together?

If you have any info or pictures you can share, I'd really appreciate it. If you have any that you can sell, I'd REALLY REALLY appreciate it. image

  • On the 1970 Papal Proof set, the last time I went to the Central Bank of the Philippines, they were still offering it (and many other proof sets) in the original packaging. But that was about 4 years ago, and since then I suspect that the local dealers may have cleaned the Central Bank out.

I've never seen the other sets in their original packaging.

    Best wishes,

Someone showed an image once of a 1947 set in cardboard, but I can't say if it was original or an aftermarket holder. They were nicely toned if I recall.
  • Thanks. Maybe I should write Krause and see if they can provide any info on them, since they have them listed.

Anyone have any experience getting information answered by the Krause editors?

I once sent them an email about some PCGS Graded Proof Swedish coins I had. Krause didn't list any proofs for that year. They responded fairly quickly to my email.
