Soriano trade and his cards

I just read that Soriano was traded to the Nationals. They mentioned that he is 29, I thought he was younger. I haven't followed Soriano after he left the Yankees, did he get caught up in the age scandal?

He's still a good hitter, but his stats don't look so impressive considering he will be 30 next year. Is that why his cards have tanked?
