What will this card go for? It ends in about a day and is sitting at $340,000

Maybe someday

  • Not sure what it'll go for, but fairly certain where it'll go - straight to PSA for reholder.

At a current 3.5, does it have the goods to be a PSA 4?

Wouldn't that have already occurred? I'm thinking that a GAI 3.5 would bring more than PSA 3.
  • Dont look like no 4 to me, i reckon

I REALLY don't think the number or label on the flip is going to affect this cards selling price. The card has great eye appeal and has to be in the top five or six Wagners in existance.

I agree- more than any other this is the card to buy the card and not the holder. The only thing that counts is that it isn't trimmed, restored, or otherwise doctored. The grade is fairly inconsequential.
I suspect the person that graded this one has probably graded more Wagners than anyone else. I'd also bet the grade was shopped between all 3 grading companies. Don't count on a cross to a PSA 4.

Or the King of Pre-War = SGC.
  • $369,651.00 -- for the next bidder!!!!!!!!!
  • Here's how the GAI 3.5 and a PSA 4 compare. I wouldn't care about the slight difference in grades. There's only a few in the world that look better than these.

The card will not cross to a PSA 4. If the card would have graded an SGC 4 or PSA 4 it would already be in one of those holders.

With the price already over $340,000 where does this sale rank in terms of sportcards? It definately is the highest selling single card that has not been PSA graded.
  • Something I've always wondered: Do grading companies (like PSA, SGC, GAI) keep scans and databases of the cards they receive and grade that fall into the "super high profile" category? I would think that someone like PSA would prefer to keep a card of this stature with a constant grade and avoid a reputation of "flip-flop" grading (the crack and resubmit game).

  • A great card for GAI, but will it last??????
