Need picture advice

What is the best way to obtain and display quality pictures of registry coins. I am assembling nice proof halves and quarters and would like to post the pictures on the registry also. I have tried scanning and the detail is just not good enough. I look forward to your advice.

I agree with you that scans just don't cut it.

Unless you are willing to spend alot of time learning how to take photos of your coins, I would recommend having someone else do it.

There have been a few on these forums that photograph coins for a nominal fee. There is also the new TruView service at PCGS that is very reasonable in my view.

I have used one of the forum members with great results and look forward to trying the PCGS service.

Parke is a master of understatement. He's top banana in proof Kennedys.

  • I would send "darkhorse" a PM (Phil Arnold). He fowarded me some UNBELIEVEABLE photos that he took (he is a PCGS photographer for TrueView) when I was interested in that service. They can shoot proof photos two different ways and he can show you some pics that will blow your mind. For a top set such as yours, I would think you would want the best photos available! image Good luck -

Russ has been known to get a decent picture of a Kennedy proof from time to time also.image
