How do they find "hot packs" in SPX

YOu know there is 24 packs a box. Well anyways 1 pack per box has a rookie auto jersey. How do they know which one it is. People do. Im not sure if it's marked or not I think it might be a certain place in the box where the hot pack is found. This makes me wonder is there a way to find out what packs have good cards and bad cards. If so would this be a reason why people sell these "hot packs" unopened. I think you would open it everytime with the shot at a big card.

  • It's called pack searching and it's a sad and pathetic practice in my opinion!

P.S.-You really love SPX don't you!
  • Yes, I use to like finest though not anymore.

I remember in 1996 topps I think with Mickey Mantle commemoritve cards that were in the finest card from. I saw a few boxes at the market with jumbo packs where you could see the sides of the cards. All white and one black card said hello mantle. I must of pulled 8 jumbo packs and I got 2 refractors out of it too. They were all hard to get inserts.

Some of us older guys use the xray vision glasses that we were able to purchase in the mid 60's by sending away 500 bazooka wrappers and 15 cents. When we are not searching packs for artificially created rarities we are looking at woman and seeing through the clothes they are wearing.

Most of the "hot packs" on eBay are resealed. Look at the feedback and you will see that buyers pull what was guranteed- but it is never a big name. Only once in a while you will see a low ffedback buyer who miraculously pulled a Jordan auto /1 or something. It is all a scam.
  • I know someone that used to do it back in the mid 90's with a micrometer. He was pretty accurate considering he wasn't searching gu, but inserts.

I heard pack searchers use their micrometers to measure more than just packs...lol
