Just need to vent

I know they're practically worthless but I wish PSA graded the 1980 Topps Superstars over sized cards. I really like this issue, just overly sentimental I suppose.
Thanks for listening.

  • Oh man. I mowed so many lawns in the summer of 1980 to buy all of these I could. My 12-year old brain told me that these were sure to be worth a lot of money. Big Cards = Big Bucks, right?

Still...I agree with you. Even though they are worthless, it would be nice to have some of my favorite players graded. I haven't looked at mine for a while, but I'm sure I have some PSA 10's.

GAI will slab them I think.

    Good for you.

GAI will probably be slabbing boogers by the end of next year, as soon as PSA starts grading packs and effectively wipes them out of the market.

You talking about the "valuable" white backs or was it the graybacks that were the "rare" ones? I still have a few unopened packs of those. I think they have just one card in each maybe!? Or maybe I am thinking of a different set as I was thinking they were 1981?

I think they're pretty cool too.

    Great for getting autographs also.

I got some boxes years ago for practically nothing.

They're like maxi versions of the 64 Giants.

    So you're not alone.
