Since you are a dealer, have you ever thought about buying some Krause books like the rest of us have who are not dealers? 3Mark
I'm traveling on memory and running out of fuel.

3Mark: I must agree. Smittys: I know that the forum members are a great bunch who are always willing to assist, but (correct me if I am wrong) for a dealer who "doesn't deal in darkside," (as you've mentioned in a previous post) you sure ask a lot of darkside value questions. Seems like a KM investment is in order image - Preussen

  • Great coins I almost always forget that Puerto rico had a few coins.

    5 centavos F=$15, VF=$25, XF=$45, UNC=$185
    10 centavos F=$20, VF=$35, XF=$60, UNC=$250
    20 centavos F=$35, VF=$60, XF=$90, UNC=$300
    40 centavos F=$150, VF=$275, XF=$600, UNC=$2750
    peso F=$125, VF=$250, XF=$450, UNC=$1200

This was from a coin digest book of last year.

I don't completely agree with the others ask anytime maybe you lost your book or are on the road and can't get to the book.
    Good luck.

Also, haven't the Krause books been available at absolute bargain prices from one of the BST sellers? Like $15 shipped? No excuse not to get them at that price...

Thank you so much Preussen and CoinPictures! I'll get the book. I grew up collecting world coins while I was a kid in Puerto Rico. When I moved to US and began collecting US coins was when I found out about the coins from Puerto Rico. I would love to put a set together. Thank you so much!

The 2009 edition of the Red Book (A Guide Book of United States Coins) lists Puerto Rican coins. See page 391. The valuations are protected by copyright, so I won't list them here, but you can get the book from your local library.

4th ED Krause (This is one older than the current version)

    KM 20 1896 PGV 5 Centavos: F=30, VF=45, XF=85, Unc=200
    KM 21 1896 PGV 10 Centavos: F=35, VF=60, XF=110, Unc=275
    KM 22 1895 PGV 20 Centavos: F=45, VF=70, XF=135, Unc=325
    KM 23 1896 PGV 40 Centavos: F=250, VF=325, XF=750, Unc=2850
    KM 24 1895 PGV Peso: F=275, VF=35, XF=800, Unc=1650

The good news is, the 2009 Redbook has Puerto Rico in it now:

EDIT: LOL, I see this thread is a few years old, have to start watching the dates! image
