Sports Card Software

I am looking for input from members for some software I am writing. I am currently in the process (VERY early stages) of writing some software for keeping up with ones card collection. Before I get to far into it I would like to get some feedback from some collectors.

1.) Would you even be interested in such a product.
2.) What all features would you want it to support. (Other than the normal stuff, ie keeping up with how many cards you have, what cards you want, ect)
3.) What all informtaion would you want about each card. Some of the stuff currently included are # wanted, # have, notes,
3.) Any other comments you might have that you think might be of use to me.

I would appreciate any commentsquestions that you may have.

I use Virtualizards SpreadSheets for tracking everything. JEB did some custom work for me and created a program that totals up everything, with cost, grade, notes, source, a summary sheet, everything. Whenever I start on a new set he adds that in as well. The price is very reasonable and I can't imagine an easier system. You might take a look at his home page.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Price of Purchase, Price of Sale, Shipping Cost, Net profit/Loss.

Typical Financial stuff would be of great help for keeping track of sales and purchases.

oh and make the final product free.

    Good Luck

  • I tried three different programs, didn't like any of them so I created my own on Access.

I gave up worrying about tracking each cards cost, shipping cost, resale, loss, gain, etc. I was using the same spreadsheets that Griffin mentioned and I found out that all of this was just too much information. In the end, FOR ME (IMO), the data was cool to look at once in a while but really meant nothing of any consequence in the end. Just another cool tool that sucks up hobby time. image
