ROMAN COINS COLLECTING KIT

Anyone here ever use this?

Is it a good way to get started in Roman coinage?

The book, by Zander Klawans, is great and the Safe-Flips are a must, but I don't really see the need for that album. I think you would come out better if you order the book and flips and then buy a Dansco stock book with 2x2 pages.

I think this isn't very good value for the money. If you're interest is Roman, I'd buy an out of date David Sear (seaby) catalogue (from Amazon, ebay, whatever) and the flips and a storage box and start from there. Plenty of info in the book and written at an appropriate level.

Regular price for the "kit" $53.00.

    Amos Advantage price $43.00

The book s available New on Amazon for $8.50 - $10.50

Pack if Safe-flips is what $7?

That leaves you $25 or so for the binder and pages if you start with the Amos Advantage price. Here is an idea. Use the regular price, buy a binder and about ten pages for $$7 (that will hold 200 coins) and use the other $28 to buy a either group of uncleaned ancients or some common $5 - $7 ancients for them to clean/identify and "mount"

Yeah, Aethelred has an even better point, a 2X2 stock book would be even cheaper and allow more money to go towards the coins.
