Is collation still really predictable for modern wax?

I am curious, i've become addicted to the latest topps all american retired set... It just came out in the last couple of weeks, but i've noticed there's an extremely noticeable trend of autographs that have come up on ebay. It's really strange, individual players pop up in blocks.....and then a few days later a new player pops up in blocks. the only explanation that i can come up with is that the autos are basically blatantly packed into cases in a very predictable manner. Is this the exception to the rule, or are all modern sets like this?
I was going to buy a couple of boxes, but between the numerous guaranteed auto packs that have hit the market, the fact you can get most of the auto cards for under $20, i decided it would be far cheaper to just buy the cards individually. Is it logical that when the marino/elway/montana autos start hitting ebay....that's the time those cases have come to market, as opposed to now when all the autos are crow/easley/jefferson....and subsequently, when they pass.....that's when I should stop even looking?
This is a great set, i don't think there's any other sets with autographed hall of famers in their college uniforms. but whoever bought cases of it is going to take a bath....I don't think it's possible that 1 in 10 boxes has a chance of breaking even.

No I don't believe that's it at all. I'm sure the big three you mentioned are probably short-printed so they aren't going to pop up as much as the common auto's you mentioned. Plus the fact that not all who rip want to sell a nice pull like that and may want to add it to their collection. And third this is a new product so it may take another week or two for the big hits to start showing up.
