Ebay bid question

When a person makes a ceiling bid on an ebay auction, Does the seller know what that ceiling bid top price (most you are willing to pay) or does he know only what you have bid as the current price prevailing in the auction? Does the seller have a way of seeing what your top price to bid is before the auction ends? thanks

Unless the seller uses a second account or has a friend shill his auction up to find your highest bid amount.
