1895 IH pop 1/0 in Heritage FUN auction

Sharply struck, as usually seen, this piece has significant metal flow in the fields on both sides that gives the coin a textured appearance that enhances the mint luster even more. Link

The flow lines do enhance the look of this coin but it's tough to tell by the Heritage photo. Someone slipped me this pop 1 coin at the Baltimore 2004 show:

Is it a 67RD? It's likely the best 1895 Indian Head cent you'll ever find. This a one of those sleeper dates in high grade.

  • Must be a Walsh collection (at least that's what the Lincolns were called) coin. Although I don't collect Indian cents, it looks like Barry had better Indian cents than Lincolns. Both, excellent collection nonetheless.

Did you photo the coin, Shylock?? Guess I'd forgotten.

I sold that coin to "Ally" thinking I could find a nice 66R that was a close second - big mistake. Should have kept the 67R. Eventually settled for a so-so 65R.

    Nice picture!
