EGADS! Check this thing out...

Regardless of what you think of cut autos or modern product or whatever, this is still an impressive collection of autos albeit a bit over-priced. image

Quad Auto

Not sure why "The Beckett Store" is selling it....that seems odd. Nice publicity for them I guess, they seem to be whoring it around all over the place.

Is that Dakota from these boards that placed a bid on that card?? That is some serious coin.

Anyone else find a conflict of interest for beckett to be selling something they graded? It's kind of like week old tuna salad, it doesn't sit well with me.

I agree on the grading, selling, pimping part of it. Seems a little shady to me, and I can't remember the last time I saw even a single cut auto get above an 8 or 8.5 grade, and 9x out of 10 the auto grade is an 8 or 9 as well. Grading this was completely pointless in my opinion anyway unless their only goal was to forever preserve the card. Then I can understand it.

Beckett does not own this card they are just pimping it to further themselves, or as I like to call it- Rosenhausing.

<< <i>“When Barry contacted Beckett Media about getting involved our main objective was to promote this one of a kind card and Barry’s unique story. We were drawn to the fact that he is just a regular collector who pulled an extraordinary card,” said Pepper Hastings, Beckett Baseball editor. “We think Barry’s chances of executing a successful sale are very strong.” >>

I think the owner needs to sell it for gastric bypass surgery. Or at least a gym membership.

That was my first thought too, this dude is 26?

I know this hobby isn't a mecca for the physically fit, but to be that heavy at 26 is not good. I just read an article about how waist size has a more direct correlation to health than weight. Based on that pic, I would take the under on this guy's future health.

Beckett should have hired one of the Naxcom show skanks to pose with the card. It would make for a "happy ending" to the story.

Back to more mature posts than this one.
