I'm probably the only one who finds this interesting, but . . .
Here's three different 1959 # 10 Mickey Mantle's, a PSA 4, a PSA 5, and a PSA 6. All ended the same day from the same seller with the same shipping charges. All ended for the same price? Looks like centering really is important!

I couldn't agree more. I would much rather have that 4 than the 6. On some cards centering isn't nearly as much of an issue, at least for me. (ie. 55 and 56 topps for example. However, with that card and it's bright red background, it looks terrible off-center like that. It doesn't surprise me too much that the prices are so comparable. Centering, especially to vintage collectors is probably the single most important factor.

its a tremendous sign that collectors are buying the card and not the slab ...Eye appeal will be the new thing sellers will hype in their auctions instead of a technical grade.
All cards are graded properly given the standards but a premium is being paid for eye appeal ...i love it.

I agree! and FWIW the other day this card was on ebay and I thought the very same thing. I guess corners are sharp....
what bothers me is that TRUE EX/MNT cards are supposed to look MINT at first glance and then upon further examination 2 corners are allowed to be soft. Cards this OC should never be given an EX/MNT grade IMO

Maybe there's another untapped market out there . . . anyone want to start a "4_even_borders" or "50_50_TB_50_50_LR" ebay id?
