Counterfeiting Bills

Our news media did it again. Don't know if anyone out there gets FOX News but just a few minutes ago I saw on the news there lastest report on counterfeiting bills. They showed the latest craze in doing this by the bleach method. Individuals just bleach out the color on a $5 or $1 dollar bill and when dry run it though a good computer printer. They showed how it is done by rubbing with the bleach, showed actual counterfeit $100 bill, noted naturally that there is a water mark in the right hand side of the same president that should be on the bill but it will only show up in strong lighting. The verticle line built into the paper is also in a different location on each denomination but since no one except bill experts knows where it is supposed to be, that is no help in identification. They further interviewed someone that indicated the best place to pass them is in dark lounges where the lighting is dim, people have been drinking, having fun and no one is watching for counterfeit bills. Using actual Mint Paper makes identification difficult to say the least.
They further mentioned how one such operation netted over $800,000 before it was shut down.
Now I don't know what they were thinking when they aired that story but I know many kids in school with access to strong bleaches in the chem lab and access to a good printer may well say, hey lets try that. That story may have just given an idea to thousands. Oh well like people say, the news media today makes the news, not reports it.
