Dear PSA re: D304 Young on Ebay

Is a PR/FR 1 grade the new Authentic now because this young graded is only trimmed on like all 4 sides noticeably! C'mon, even ur most loyal humble servants are losing faith here image

I fear with this latest development it's only a matter of time before fake Cracker Jacks will be holdered. Please take some much needed action and restore some faith in this boy's heart.

    As MANY have stated before:
    The easy fix is for PSA to have a "new" classification: "AUTHENTIC,"
    with the appropriate "qualifier." No numerical grade should be given.

    A rare item with a "defect" is still rare. It is not as "valuable" as the
    same item with "no defect," but it is still rare and is "worth" having
    to show as "an example" of the item.

    Obviously, I have no certain way to know if the subject card is trimmed, but
    if it is, I see nothing wrong with slabbing it and labeling it as such. But, the
    number grades on altered cards does mess up the system that commerce
    in the cards is built upon.

    There is a diffrence between triming to decieve and some person just blatantly cutting the card 50 or so years ago.

    psa does have a beat up cards that are authentic. i had an old ty cobb. it got a grade of psa 0. i called them to see what the story was and the lady told it means it is authentic, but ungradeable, in other words below a 1.

    the dealer should pull the auction send it to PSA get the AUT designation...maybe get a few free gradings.

    Mistakes happen...PSA should be quick and proactive in these cases ..i hope they dont bury this post

    heard from the seller that psa will be taking a 2nd look at the card.

    I also emailed PSA yesterday evening and received a response earlier today that the card is being shipped back to the company for further review.
