2005 S Golden Dollar Doubling?

With all this talk about maching doubling, double die... I just looked at my proof set from the mint for this year, and noticed doubling in the following areas: The "LIB" in Liberty, "IN G" "We Tr" In God we Trust, the hair of the baby, the eyes (more prominent in the left eye), the nose and lips of the baby (poor thing looks like he's been run over by a tank), the designer's initials, along the bottom of her clothes and into the design of her clothes, the "S" mintmark and the "5" in 2005. Slight bit of doubling on her nose also. This is one funky coin, I must admit. Wish I could post pictures, but my scanner won't pick it up and I don't have a very fancy digital.

Knowing all this, is this machine doubling or something else? I'm not well versed in all this, and would like some input. Thanks

Truly the only way to tell machine doubling from the real deal this far away is to see an image, and a good one at that. There are so many minor anomalies that are or are not the real deal, it would be impossible for anyone to tell you without seeing it.

So hold it up to the screen a little closer and I'll get out my loupe. One...two...three...NOW!!



BTW, welcome to the board. I hope you have a twisted sense of humor, cause if you don't you'll be less than amused with this crowd.
