Before pulling the trigger on this one, do you think the postage cost is too high?

Ok, now which stategy would you use to buy this one? Maybe wait and save $1,000.00 but then again, someone else might come along and hit the BIN and cheat me out of it.

What to do... what to do. . .

Chance it and wait or BIN?

  • I know nothing whatsoever about SBA dollars. What is so "rare" about this "grandfather left me" coin?
I can't imagine spending substantial sums for 25 year old coins unless they are varieties that "make sense" and have a market (Cheerios Sac Dollars seem to be important, Double Dies, Error coins, etc., etc.).

Other than the strange toning I really don't understand the pricing of that coin. Am I missing something?

Missed that part. I assumed since it wasn't in the subject line, it was raw or third world. Is this "anti-keyword spamming"?

Anyway, at least the slab will "prove it's rare!"
  • Here's his response from my question as to why it's so rare:

"if they have the P right under Susan B Anthony. and they say from 1979. and they have a design from side the quater, plus if its a wide quater. then your looking at a rare icon. i didnt kno until i was bored online looking at coins and i those are the ones my grandpops left me. like 8 years ago.they go for over 4 grand. because its real silver."

I believe this is a photo of a recent PCGS MS67 Wide Rim that did in fact sell on eBay for around $3,000.

Obvious problem is that it is a swiped photo and the seller does not own the coin!

    SCAM!!!!!!!

    Stupid Scam at that!!

    Yep! Here's the auction.............
  • another followup from my email to the seller letting them know that the pictures were stolen from a closed auction:

"i am changing my pictures shortly. i saw that they were similar to the other person's auction. i've revised my listing as u can see. i will be updating the listing shortly with better pictures"

Ya, i'm sure he will............ as soon as he finds another wide rim SBA pic to steal ! image

Put your $1500 bid in, the BIN will disappear and I could almost guarantee that you'd walk away with that sucker! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I sold a $25 Fed bank wrapped roll of 79 SBAs on Ebay recently and got about $40 for it. I should have emailed this guy.
