I found a 1947-S Nickel. Received from a pop machine.

I tend to find quite a few 1940's Nickels in change these days. Not so much the 1950's...why is that?

2 days in a row I received a 1940 nickel in change. This was a few months ago.

Later, Paul.

Strange as it may sound, many good finds are still available in circulation !
I also have good luck going to the bank, and buying rolls of coins that have been turned in by non- collectors.

If you want to look through nickels try going to a Nickelcade. Last time I went with my wife and son they were really starting to get annoyed because I wouldn't let them spend a nickel without me looking at it first. I found quite a few from the 40s & 50s.

Maybe because they're worth a nickel??? I just dumped a bunch of LIBERTY nickels, well worn out, into circulation. I guess it will be interesting for someone out there to find them.
