So I'll bet you thought there were no 15th century Liteside coins, huh?

Think again!

Just think of what sort of history this "1496 buffalo nickle" might have seen! Why, Columbus himself might've carried it in his pocket when he discovered America!

A starting bid of $750 seems perfectly reasonable to me....

If it was slabbed I would consider bidding. This is a key date in the series and widely counterfeited. image

Didn't Columbus discover America in 1492?? image

I guess that they did not have good cameras back then; the image is very fuzzy.

So the Buffalo "Nickle" (can't anyone spell that word??) series was resumed over 400 years after it was discontinued. Wow, you learn something new every day. image

Don't be so quick to judge.

The '1' in the date is hard to read (and might not be there). Probably a 496 A.D. date...

I heard the rumor of the existance of a 'Dark Ages' Buffalo nickle... image

    This could be IT.

Not only is it very rear, but it's apparently haunted, too. Note the ectoplasmic donut in the picture.

No, wait- I suppose that could be a giant amoeba. Nothing supernatural about a giant amoeba.
