Whitman World Albums???

Hi all!

Anyone have any used or extra Whitman folders for Canadian, British or British Empire series?

Stores in the states do not seem to carry them, and you used to be able to buy the world folders at dealers' shops when they bought collections and no longer needed the folders. Now it seems they get trashed right away.

If anyone has any, knows of a cheap place to buy them or is willing to sell, please write me!

Nick

Randy Miller @ Chief Coin & Supply has a decent stock of them, in brand new or used condition. I don't have his address, but someone will soon post it here, no doubt about it. image

I've got a few of the Canadian Whitman bookshelf albums:

9500 - large cents 1858-1920 x4, one is brand new still in shrink wrap
    9502 - 5c silver 1858-1921
9503 - nickels 1922-1966 brand new still in shrink wrap
    9508 - halves 1870-1936 x3
    9509 - halves 1937-
    9511 - dollars 1935-

    I also have two sets of the Whitman folders for quarters, 9068 + 9069, 1911-1952 + 1953-

Some of the above are well used and a couple as noted are brand new.

    Make offeres.

These are the same "Blue Folder" type of coin albums, right? If so, is $8 what you would pay for them normally?

I really have no idea, and I am just curious as to how much they retail for and what would be considered a bargain.
I have never really tried to store my world coins in that manner, so am exploring the alternatives.

    Thanks,

8 bucks for the bookshelfs are very fair... I see them for 15 frequently.

I was just at a monthly coin show which had a few (shillings, 6-pence, etc) British folders at $2 each. Unfortunately, the show isn't held in Dec, so the 4th weekend in Jan '06 would be the next time. However, Chief coin & Supply is very reasonable. I believe their folders are something like $2 or so new and $1 used - - but it's been a while since I ordered from him. But he IS good & reputable!

Once in a blue moon, I come across an extra folder or two as well. PM me with exactly what you are looking for.
