edit: 10 day unconditional return policy
<< <i>so.... i love the original look of the coin and dont mind paying well for coins i like... but is $450 ridiculous? too high? i dont mind overpaying, but dont want to be ripped.... if you follow me

DLRC's return policy is good. If you want it, get it. Look for a nice strong strike and some luster remaining. I would be worried about an old cleaning which has since retoned but removed the luster. The only way to tell is to have it in your hand. I say go for it, worst case return it. You could also give them a call on Monday and have someone describe it...Mike
Watch for the doubled die reverse varieties of 1853 Halves. These are sleepers.

sidenote: i put it on the parents credit card (after asking, of course =P) as an early christmas present.... so i just hope i love how it looks
I bought this one raw and think it is graded right at XF45 by PCGS. It is super original and still cartwheels! I would wait for an honest to goodness XF.

the wear JUST makes the cut for AU, but the luster definitely puts it there (according to my opinion and that of my local dealer)
DLRC has treated me well once again =P
Didn't look CLOSELY enough. Glassed, but the problem is really ..... f a i n t.
There's grafitti under the original tone though.
Just wanna get it out at whatever someone bids (with full disclosure)
Gonna take the lumps and move on. VERY nice looking coin at a cursory (or even "moderate") inspection.
Edited to add that it is NOT in the field under the cap. It's on the left side and really concealed.
Edited again to answer what I "want" for it.
I have no frikkin idea. Gonna put it on ebay and tellem what's up and see if someone wants it. It would be a terrific "scam coin" and could be what the original seller did. I bought it for the originality and toning and general look of originality. It had that alright.
Maybe someone else would have the same idea.
I contacted the seller and advised that I would accept a loss if he just wanted to pay his ACQUISITION cost or even make an OFFER and got back a buncha stammering and mumbo jumbo.
Gonna take a loss no matter what. I'll link it when I get it up.
Grrrrrrr..... (many a tear has to fall.....but it's allllllll....in the game)
Edited yet AGAIN to curse the original grafitti-ist. He did such a lousy job and made it so faint that I can't even READ what he managed to get on the coin.
does it make the grade? any change of opinions?
edit: sorry i cant take very good pictures - at home using the parents camera....
Great coin. If I were gonna be nitpicky I would say I wanted to see a little more luster, but that would be... well, nitpicky. The nice original toning makes up for any shortfall in the luster arena.
Edit to add- if you say it cartwheels, then that's what I would look for. All the good stuff and luster, too. Yeah, baby.

Sorry Topstuff.......sleezebay strikes again.
