one has to love the fact it is sitting in an old holder.
no one has touched it in years.

is it AT or NT, i have no idea, but it sure looks nice.
no rub on her at all?

I almost bought that one yesterday myself but suspect there may be a tad more brown vs red than the photo depicts. Please, upon it's arrival, shoot it for us and post!

Sure wish the reverse was as pretty as the obverse!
    When in doubt, don't.

It reminds me of a tapestry, the color and texture looks so rich.

Like fc said, I love the old rattlers and walkers with color are tough. image
  • I think it's yucky. I wonder what the luster is like. Maybe I'd feel differently with it in hand image

OK, I decided that I like it image

OK, I've changed my mind again imageimage

A little too strong on the color for my own personal taste... but would also depend on whether the coin is 'flat' or has some luster to it.... Definitely do not see too many with this kind of color.

I agree with all the replies so far...it depends on luster and the true color in hand...I will update you all when it comes in. Thanks, Doug

GSAGUY: Hey Doug, I really like that toned Morgan you sent me. What do you want for it?

UOFA: Well, I've got that toned half you sent me. How about we do a straight-up trade?

GSAGUY: Does that work for you?

UOFA: Yeah, I can live with that. Done deal?

GSAGUY: Sure, done deal. Ruthless bastidge.

I'd give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

A very nice Walker, in my opinion. I love finding toned material like than in the MS62-64 range....

  • It looks like it will be lusterless and dark in hand. I'd pass on it.

It's difficult to tell the degree to which the heavy toning has affected the luster. For me a big issue would be how much luster is still apparent when viewed under proper lighting. I'd hold off judgement for some better pictures but I'm not necessarily turned off by heavy toning.

I'll be honest with you and tell you I don't like it at all. I think there was significant light used to obtain the image and that the color was slightly enhanced post-image acquisition. The reverse is likely a flat, lusterless brown while I would suspect the obverse to have virtually none of the attractive auburn that is shown. In fact, I think the obverse is also likely fairly lusterless. There was a reason this coin went MS63 and I think you will find that out in-hand.
